OPHION OPH 786 Vélos

For our latest version of the marvelous OPH 786 we have included so many new elements that it is now a completely new watch.

Proudly inspired by sublime Art Deco visual style. Replete with a new multilayered dial in fabulous color variations & new teardrop lugs to enhance our symmetrical case.

For this launch, we have added our uniquely stylized Vélos hour hand contributing a charming bold character.

The new dials have the same high quality CNC guilloche base as before in our well know colors: galvanic blue & silver. Now also a new extravagant salmon pink for the delight of those looking for something unique & different. Over this base we designed a hollowed minute ring with deep polish chamfering for the exterior edge. To mark the hours, we use exaggerated applied Arabic numerals. They are specifically diamond polished for extra luminosity in reflection. All swag numerals here are finished in rhodium or thermal blue. Our dial's center is crafted with a chamfered edge inner brand ring plus our distinct logo shield at 6:00

VÉLOS SIGNATURE NEW HAND

In our new Vélos hand, we created an oversized concave arrow. The name comes from the classical Greek in which Vélos means arrow.

This oversized indicator completely changes the feel of composition. Likewise, all our hands are finished in Nickel or PVD blue.

The new case is far more difficult to produce. For higher quality standards & because we listen to our customers who ask for better readability, our new AR treatment is now included in both dial & movement sapphire crystals. We apply an anti-reflective coating inside and out for stronger visual clarity. These processes enable greater visual appreciation to all detail without reflection or distortion.

The tear drop lugs are individually made in a separate process increasing the complexity of the case. They are then individually applied by high precision welding to the case. Achieving an invisible-weld is no easy task. Only preeminent artisans with incredible expertise can deliver this fine art!

A VERY SPECIAL SOUL

For the caliber we keep our custom made OPHION design emulating the hand finished movements crafted for noble era fine pocket watches.

Here you see symmetrical design and independent bridges as we re-shape our base movements using a historical philosophy rooted in the beauty of hand craftsmanship.

At OPHION decoration follows the aesthetics of the era & period. Our special hammered finish simulates the mercury evaporation originally used back in the day.  

Machine chamfering on the edges & a subtle gray finish of the bridges offer a beautiful contrast to the straight brushed finish you see in the independent balance wheel. This delivers a unique touch of contrast between the elements.

• Case: 316L Stainless Steel hand polished, with independent made and welded teardrop lugs.

Top: domed sapphire crystal, with exterior ARDUR scratch resistant anti-reflective coating, and interior anti-reflective coating.

• Dial:  Multilayered with two options for the base: CNC Guilloche in three galvanic colorations, Blue, Silver and Salmon, or Radial brushed base, in Blue or Anthracite galvanic colors.

Arabic numerals: Appliques are CNC, finished with thermal blue, or with rhodium bath.

• Hands: Thermal blued hands, or nickel plated. Introducing our new hour hand named Vélos (comes from the classical Greek meaning arrow)

Produced in collaboration with Estima AG in Switzerland.

• Movement: Custom made desings and decoration made under Ophion specifications; proprietary design in the main bridges and balance wheel bridge, new improved Grenaille finish on the bridges, machine chamfering on the edges, machine straight brushing in the barrel bridge, dark gray color on the main plates and bridges, rhodium finish in the balance wheel bridge.

• Strap: Handmade Leather strap included in the base price, it’s possible to upgrade to Alligator leather simply elect the strap upgrade.
